Summer is the toughest time for blood donations and VA Blood Services must collect more than 400 units of blood each day in order to meet the needs of the 22 hospitals it serves.

Did you know that 1 in 7 people entering the hospital will need blood? That 95% of people will need blood in their lifetime? And that 60% of the population are eligible to give blood and only about 5% do on a yearly basis?
